Michael Dahlenberg is the founding cellist of the Hamer Quartet which won First Prize and Grand Prize at the Asia Pacific Chamber Competition in 2009. The quartet has performed across Australia and overseas, including the Norwich and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and recorded for ABC Classic FM, 3MBS and Melba Records.
He has performed solo with the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the Melbourne New Orchestra, Melbourne University Chamber Orchestra and numerous community orchestras. He was an Emerging Artist with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in 2008 and has since performed with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Opera Victoria, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and is a core member of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra.
He has directed the Stonnington Symphony chamber players, and this year will also be conducting the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra and the Melbourne Youth Philharmonic as well as other projects.
