Clare Juan began studying piano at the age of four. At the age of 11 she was awarded a music scholarship to Camberwell Girls Grammar School. That same year she began her piano studies with her current piano teacher, Rita Reichman. She has received many awards as a pianist- and also as a cellist. She is a student at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, studying cello with Josephine Vains. In 2014 she was awarded the school’s Junior Music Award and in 2016 the Richard Stolz Viennese Society Scholarship. Most recently she won the Boroondara Eisteddfod Chamber Music Award and the VCASS Austral Salon Chamber Ensemble Competition for the second year in a row.
